Conductance of a double quantum dot with correlation–induced wave function renormalization
The zero–temperature conductance of diatomic molecule, modelled as a correlated double quantum dot attached to noninteracting leads is investigated. We utilize the Rejec–Ramšak formulas, relating the linear–response conductance to the ground–state energy dependence on magnetic flux within the framework of EDABI method, which combines exact diagonalization with ab initio calculations. The single...
متن کاملCorrelation effects in a quantum dot at high magnetic fields.
We investigate the effects of electron correlations on the ground state energy and the chemical potential of a droplet confined by a parabolic potential at high magnetic fields. We demonstrate the importance of correlations in estimating the transition field at which the first edge reconstruction of the maximum density droplet occurs in the spin polarized regime. Typeset using REVTEX 1 The elec...
متن کاملVariational wave function for a two-electron quantum dot
We have applied the variational quantum Monte Carlo technique to a two-electron quantum dot. A simple variational wave function is presented and we compare the results obtained using it with exact numerical diagonalizations. The comparison shows that almost exact results are obtained for lowest energy states of different relative angular momenta. ( 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملCorrelation and Coherence in Quantum - Dot Cellular
by Géza Tóth In this thesis we investigate the role of correlation and coherence in two possible realizations of Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA): realizations as a semiconductor multi-quantum-dot structure and as a metal-island single electron tunneling circuit. The two are different from the point of view of the underlying physics. The metal island circuits are very strongly connected to t...
متن کاملCorrelation effects in wave function mapping of molecular beam epitaxy grown quantum dots.
We investigate correlation effects in the regime of a few electrons in uncapped InAs quantum dots by tunneling spectroscopy and wave function (WF) mapping at high tunneling currents where electron-electron interactions become relevant. Four clearly resolved states are found, whose approximate symmetries are roughly s and p, in order of increasing energy. Because the major axes of the p-like sta...
